Local Agenda:

  • SHOOTING RIGHT THE 1ST TIME - Guest Speaker, Mike Larson
Get the technical side of things down fast, REAL FAST. Get as much experience as you can as fast as you can. Once you have the experience you will gain confidence, and you will be able to develop the premier experience while your are shooting, and improve style of photos you give your clients. This is a huge area we all can improve on and having images great straight out of the camera increases our perceived value and professionalism. This will allow us to evolve and adapt as we grow in our talent while helping us to not burn out. When you shoot right the first time you give yourself the best chance of having a completely streamlined and enjoyable workflow process, speeding delivery times, and creating more freedom for you to do what you really want in life. Shooting right means mastering light, problem solving on the fly and getting things done right. This is the foundation of a professional photographer. As the entry level for being a photography becomes easier and easier in an age where the market is becoming continually saturated with photographers, mastering light, will give you the degree of separation will enable you to focus on the relationship, which results in referrals and growth of your business.
  • When it comes to our clients, they want to follow leaders, they want to be inspired, led, and influenced. When we know how to do this better, we build a reputation of being a successful leader in the industry and with our past clients. This directly results into increased clients. And lets face it, in an industry where there is much less to separate us from others, our gear bags are similar, and our websites are from the similar companies, who we are is our biggest degree of separation. This is the least expensive area to grow and develop. I believe in this photography industry, today’s leaders are going to be tomorrow’s success stories. Be a leader in your industry, you don't have to be nationally recognized to succeed, but you will have a business that will grow and stay prosperous in a recession.
